About this event
PyCon JP is a volunteer-run, non-profit conference for the Python community. It has run annually since 2011, when it began as PyCon mini JP in Tokyo. It is organised by the PyCon JP Association.
The conference welcomes attendees regardless of nationality or experience level. Talks cover web development, data science, machine learning, and automation. It has grown into one of the largest PyCon events in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 2026 edition runs across three days in Hiroshima. Two conference days are followed by a separate sprint day. Around 1,000 attendees are typically expected each year.
What Usually Happens at PyCon JP?
The main conference runs across two days of talks and keynotes. A Sprint day follows, hosted at a separate university venue. The Sprint mixes open themes with structured beginner-friendly tracks.
Talks are delivered in English or Japanese. The programme also includes lightning talks, posters, and community exhibits. The Hallway Track, informal conversations between sessions, is treated as a core part of the event.

Keynote Speakers Announced
Carol Naslund Willing and Takashi Kitao are confirmed as keynote speakers. Carol is a CPython core developer and Python Steering Council member. Takashi created Pyxel, an open-source Python game engine. Both are profiled on the keynotes page.
Ticket Pricing Published
This is a paid event, not a free one. Standard Personal tickets are 10,000 yen. Early Bird tickets sold out on June 15, 2026. Every tier is listed on the tickets page.
Sprint Venue Confirmed
The Sprint runs at Hiroshima University's Higashi-Senda Campus. This is separate from the main conference venue. Three official Sprint themes have been announced on the sprint page.

International Conference Center Hiroshima
The main conference is held at the International Conference Center Hiroshima, inside Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. It is about a 10-minute walk from the Chuden-mae, Genbaku Dome-mae and Fukuro-machi tram stops, all served by the Hiroshima Electric Railway. The Sprint runs at a different site, Hiroshima University's Higashi-Senda Campus, so check travel details for both locations.

PyCon JP 2025 Recap
PyCon JP moves between Japanese cities from year to year, and both recent editions featured named keynote speakers and distinct themes.
The 2025 event ran September 26-28, 2025, in Hiroshima, the first PyCon JP held outside Tokyo, on the theme "Pieces of Python, Coming Together." See the PyCon JP 2025 site.
