The Box Office in Black Rock City opens August 24 for early arrivals and closes at noon on September 5. Note that Burning Man does not publish a fixed hour-by-hour programme.
Thousands of camp activities are self-organised, not centrally scheduled. The dates, gate opening, and burn nights are the fixed points. The rest of the week runs on the city's own rhythm.

Registration and Access
Burning Man 2026 requires a paid ticket, sold through the official ticketing page. Prices follow a tiered gifting model. Higher tiers subsidise lower-cost tickets for others.

All tiers grant the same access, with no VIP option. Vehicle passes are $165 each and must be bought with a ticket. Children 12 and under enter free with a Kids Ticket, and taxes and fees apply.
Sales run in separate waves, each with its own window. The Sunrise, Stewards, and Main sales have closed. The OMG Sale opened July 29, 2026, and needs no registration.
The OMG Sale caps orders at two tickets and one vehicle pass. Only expedited USA delivery and Will Call are available in it. Vehicle passes cover entry only, not driving inside the city.
Fees and taxes apply to every order. These include a 9% Nevada Live Entertainment Tax, a $4.50 per-item fee, and a 4% card processing fee. Delivery runs from $20 to $65, plus $30 Will Call pickup.
Financial-access programs exist for those who need them. These include Ticket Aid at $250, the Resilience Program, and Renaissance Champion. STEP is the only safe official resale route and closes August 28, 2026.
Getting There and Preparation
Reaching Black Rock City takes real planning, and preparation here is a safety issue, not a comfort one. Most attendees drive in from Reno, about two hours away, and Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the nearest major airport. Every vehicle needs a vehicle pass to enter the city, and attendees park at their camp for the full week.
There is no running water, food retail, or trash service on site. Only ice and coffee are sold within Black Rock City. Attendees must bring all their own water, food, and shelter, and everything brought in must leave with them under Leave No Trace.
Rules and What to Know
Burning Man runs on strict conditions, not loose ones. The rules below are set out on the official site. Buying a ticket means agreeing to them.
Tickets are never sold at the gate, and every person in a vehicle needs a valid ticket. The ticket terms cover image use, injury risk, and commercial bans. Commercial activity and advertising are prohibited on the playa. Children 12 and under enter free with a free Kids Ticket. The Box Office opens August 24 and closes at noon on September 5.
