How does Relve decide which categories to feature?

Every category card on this page reflects the real published catalog. A category surfaces only when at least one tool in our launch list is tagged with it. Tool counts, top-3 picks, and traffic numbers all come from the live Supabase tools table — no hardcoded counts. As editorial publishes more tools, the grid grows automatically within a minute (Incremental Static Regeneration).

What's the difference between a category and a tag?

Categories are the editorial buckets we curate (AI SEO Tools, AI Writing, AI Image Generation, etc.). Each tool belongs to exactly one category. Tags are looser topical descriptors that any tool can share — they let you filter inside a category. For example, the AI SEO Tools category covers 200+ tools, and within it tags like Native AI SEO, GEO, AEO, and Rebrand let you narrow further.

Why do some categories show fewer tools than competitors?

Relve favours editorial depth over directory breadth. A tool only appears on a category page after we've verified the vendor exists, run the AI SEO workflow scoring, and confirmed pricing/feature data. Until that pass is complete, the tool lives unpublished in the admin queue. The numbers you see on each card reflect the published-and-reviewed subset — not every tool we've ever scraped.

How do I suggest a new category?

Email the editorial team at media@relvehq.com or use the Contact form with topic 'Other'. Include the category name, why it deserves its own bucket (rather than sitting under an existing one), and 3-5 example tools you'd expect to see. New categories typically take a sprint to add because we backfill scoring + features for the seed tools at the same time.

Are the top-3 picks ranked or in random order?

Accepted Answer

They're ranked by monthly traffic, descending. The first card is the highest-traffic tool in the category, the second is next, and so on. Traffic is one signal; the full Rankings page on each category lets you re-sort by Domain Rating, growth rate, or user ratings for a different lens.
